DEIRDRE DYSON WINS WITH ANGLES!
Last night at the David Collins designed Velvet Bar at the Corinthia London, Lady Dyson received the Livingetc Style Award for Best Rug Collection for her 2023 collection of hand knotted rug designs, Angles.
Chosen by a panel of judges made up of Livingetc’s senior editorial team. Global brand director Sarah Spiteri, Global editor in chief Pip Rich, deputy editor (digital) Hugh Metcalf and deputy editor (print) Ellen Finch.
Pip Rich declared ‘These [rugs] are statement pieces and art in their own right – they’re really the only thing you need in a room to make an impact.’
Deirdre Dyson set herself the challenge to avoid curves in this collection and used nothing more than a set square and a ruler to create her vibrant 2023 rug designs.
The 10 new hand knotted carpets focus on the interplay of angles, linear shapes and colour and include the poppy STACCATO and AKIMBO, joyously bright HOVER and CAN CAN and geometric masterworks ENERGY, TENSION and TRACKS together with the diaphanous CLARITY and AIRBORNE.
