Glasgow based Interior Designers Occa Design commissioned these superb versions of CHEQUERED as part of a series of carpets commissioned for the central reception area of this private home which opens onto a wonderful Japanese garden.
The clean lines and simple geometry of CHEQUERED were the ideal choice, referencing the grid like structure of the French windows and black marble tiled floors.
Their simple geometry speaks to the spare monochrome aesthetic of the room whilst referencing the serenity of the Japanese garden outside.
The opposing silk and wool grades add an element of lustre and movement to this classic carpet design and add luxurious warmth and a welcoming atmosphere to this large open area.
